Inspirational Words of Wisdom for Leaders
On November 24th, over 100 guests participated in the conference “From smart to wise- Acting and leading with wisdom” with Dr. Prasad Kaipa.
An impressive crowd was attracted to the castle that night. There were executive directors and leaders from different companies such as Siemens, Steelcase, Mars UK, professors from the University of Strasbourg, Ecole de Management, and Georgian College (Canada), and leaders from the European Union and Council of Europe.
Dr. Kaipa travelled especially for this evening from India to France and we are grateful to him that he gave us the chance to develop our mind by his words. He has been an advisor and coach focusing on innovation and leadership since 1990 for hundreds of C-level executives in Global Fortune 500 companies.
During the conference in Strasbourg, Dr. Kaipa didn´t want to be an instructor but to encourage us to start thinking differently.
He suggested that each person should decide every day for the next month to think wisely and not because “it’s the smartest decision”.
Even though it is just a small difference in behaviour, our thinking will change. Regarding the self-awareness, we learned that “Smartness as smartphones or smart cities is the currency of today – but will this smart leadership help us to be happy?”
Nowadays, many leaders are stressed and lack passion. Unfortunately, many don’t even want to change, to free themselves, and to develop their minds. They are stuck in old behaviours. But the skills of today won´t make the successes of tomorrow!
Dr. Kaipa also explained how we can open ourselves and what we have to pay attention to:
Do you know which energy you bring into a room when you enter and which energy is left when you leave?
The first step to wise leadership is achieved by balancing your actions with reflection and introspection. You have to be aware of yourself and your behavior.
How do you… communicate/ decide/ act? – These are the three most important points of leadership.
The conference was sponsored/organized by ARC évolution together with G.I.V.E (the Global Institute for Core Values and Education), Château de Pourtalés, novéis, and Cryostar.
