As part of a special topics course on the current migrant crisis in Europe, Melissa Lee, student from The College of New Jersey, along with her professor Dr. Karen Becker and her classmates have created a new organization called “The College of New Jersey Kids at Play” (TCNJ K.A.P.S).
The students volunteer at the refugee center three days a week from 8 a.m. to noon. They travel an hour each way, and their commute begins by tram, followed by bus and ends with a 20-minute walk to the Patrick Henry Village. There, they play games with the children and teach them basic language and mathematic skills. This is basically the only source of education, entertainment and structure that these children receive.
Please consider supporting a wonderful project by our students! We are so proud of the work they are doing!
They need money in order to purchase crayons, paper, pencils, activities, etc. for the kids.
Go to CEPA Foundation to make a donation
100% of your donation will go toward the project and as a nonprofit, your donation is tax-deductible.
